Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Police Calls SAPD (the "Service") operated by Forte Apps LLC. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Terms of Use (EULA). If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, your license to use the app is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). These Terms apply in addition to it. Subscription terms are in section 5.
1. The Service
Police Calls SAPD displays publicly released San Antonio Police Department calls for service and related maps and optional proximity alerts. The Service is unofficial and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the City of San Antonio or SAPD. We do not claim the data is official government data, and use of City seals or marks is not authorized. Sources, the license we rely on, and the City’s own disclaimers are in section 2.
2. Call data sources, license, and disclaimers
The Service uses two public sources. Calls for service are not lists of crimes or crime reports. The City states that the information is derived from the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. Live public active-call feed
We collect publicly released active calls from the San Antonio Police Department Calls for Service site in near real time. The City publishes this note and disclaimer with that feed, and they apply to live calls shown in the Service:

Disclaimer — The calls listed here are only those where the element assigned to the call has arrived and is currently working the call. It does not include any calls for service, whether currently being worked or not, that are not releasable due to privacy laws. The google mapping function reflects the general area of the call and may include some local business/locations.
Historical Calls for Service (Open Data SA)
Historical records come from the dataset SAPD Calls for Service, published by the City of San Antonio (Public Safety) on the Open Data SA portal. Police calls for service within SAPD jurisdiction.
That dataset is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Under that license we may copy, share, and adapt the material for any purpose, including commercially, provided we give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Credit does not mean the City of San Antonio endorses this Service or our use.

Changes we make. We store a copy of the dataset, filter and search it, combine it with the live active-call feed, geocode locations for maps, and present summaries and statistics. The result is modified data. It is not “official government data.” Analyses, interpretations, and conclusions on the Service are ours (Forte Apps LLC), not the City of San Antonio’s or SAPD’s.
Reuse is also subject to the City of San Antonio Open Data Portal Terms of Use, published on the portal’s About page (last modified January 8, 2020). Those terms require attribution to the supplying department, a citation to the dataset page, and a clear statement when data has been modified. They also prohibit use of the City seal and other City marks without permission, which we do not use.
3. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract and meet any minimum age shown in the App Store listing for your region. The Service is not directed to children under 13.
4. Accounts
Provide accurate registration information and keep credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may require approval before access is granted and may suspend or terminate accounts for misuse or risk to the Service. Accounts may be limited to a fixed number of active devices (phones, tablets, and browsers). Sharing a single login across many people is not allowed; when Apple Family Sharing is available for paid subscriptions, each family member should use their own account.
5. Premium subscriptions
Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription: Premium Monthly or Premium Yearly. The price and length of each plan are shown before you confirm the purchase. Some plans include a free trial; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID (or Google Play account) when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel the subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
Purchases made through the App Store are also subject to Apple’s Standard EULA and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not use the Service for unlawful, harassing, or harmful purposes
- Do not attempt unauthorized access, scraping that degrades the Service, or interference with security
- Do not misrepresent affiliation with SAPD or the City of San Antonio
- Do not present modified call data from the Service as official government data or as endorsed by the City
7. Location and notifications
Proximity alerts require location permission (and, if you enable them, background location and notifications). You can disable these features in system settings or in-app. Location is used to evaluate nearby active calls on a per-device basis when you subscribe to that feature; account-level place watches may notify all of your signed-in devices.
8. Intellectual property
The Service software, branding, and site content are owned by us or our licensors. Public call data remains subject to the source terms in section 2, including CC BY 4.0 for the Open Data SA dataset and the City’s disclaimers for the live feed.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Call data may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. Do not rely on the Service for emergency response — call 911 for emergencies. The City’s live-feed disclaimer in section 2 applies to active calls we display: only arrived, currently worked, releasable calls; hundred-block addresses; maps show a general area that may include nearby businesses or locations.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR USD $50, EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.
11. Changes and termination
We may modify these Terms or the Service and will post updates with a new effective date. We may suspend or discontinue the Service.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections apply.
